Former health and social care secretary Jeremy Hunt delivered an Autumn Statement as chancellor that had nothing to say about the NHS or social care. The statement leaves the NHS in a precarious financial position: and cutting tech budgets to send money to the frontline.
The statement was delivered against the backdrop of a Public Accounts Committee report that had “no confidence” the government can deliver its New Hospital Programme. But NHS England decided to push ahead with the multi-million-pound Federated Data Platform contract and gave it to Palantir.
