NHS England has published its annual winter planning guidance, which builds on its January plan to recover urgent and emergency care. Features include ‘care traffic control’ centres and a further roll-out of virtual wards. Royal medical colleges have warned the plan is inadequate and the NHS needs more, physical, staffed, beds.
